Dharana is a life time kriya which means an exercise coupled with your body action, mantra and mind which automatically gets entwined with your inhale-exhale breaths and life force (the operation of which is not in your hands, but operation happens naturally as per the mantra, Hariom, you chant).
Watch the video below to understand the first level of Dharana. The techniques are given in general and you can apply the technique while working in kitchen, while washing clothes, while cleaning the floor, while cutting the vegetables, while even playing a game and so on. You can get innovative in applying the technique to various body actions you do in your life.
Dharna is a pre-meditative state which is the BASE of samadhi. Dharana in the path of Manthan Kundalini Yoga more advanced than any other dharana methods in various other yogic paths. It is the supreme technology that happens in THE TRINITY, Brahma-Vishnu-Maheswara. It happens only to a certain extent in any other devatas also. But this kind of dharana happens supremely in supreme fathers of Yoga – Shiva and Vishnu.
The weakness of all practitioners of yoga in the world is that, they do not like physical work in the world, because the physical works take their consciousness away from the meditation. There are karma yogis, who just work but do not have any application of dharana methods by them. That is the reason why most of the yogis are UNDER THE TREE sitting ones. They do not move. Because of this, their karma does not burn. In the basic kriya yoga, while sitting and doing kriyas also, little karma burns. In the Manthan Kundalini Yoga path, while sitting and doing kriyas karma burns much better than any other yoga methods because, the breaths and life force by generating heat and they thin down the traits and karmas. However, to speed up the KARMA BURNING process, THE DHARANA techniques are given, which you can apply even while you are involved in regular works in life.
This is they way the dharana is applied by Krishna, Rama and Hanuman. Hanuman achieved the GOD-HOOD through Manthan Kundalini Kriya Yoga. Hanuman is though he is a servant of lord Rama, he achieved the state of non-separation from Ram. So Hanuman though he appears outwardly with his physical body but spiritually he is RAM.
Bending means, being flexible to the nature of things, how guru or god wants you to transform. So to become more and more flexible and to become a great warrior (a yogi is called veera in Tibetan region. Veera means a warrior a hero). How a sportsman trains himself everyday to play an international game? – He not only just plays the game, he does, running, does physical body related exercises to build the body, he plays several other sports to gain certain skills and many more. All these exercises basically prepare his body, prepare his mind to be well focused in his actual sport. So bending of the body, bending of the mind and bending of the intellect are very essential before you actually play the international game (which is sitting in the kriya meditation).
So, you may be a great scientist by profession, may be you are a CEO of a great incorporation but when it comes to this path, you are required to practice the path. So do not feel lazy to bend your body. You owe karma to this world. So you need to work. You may be a great executive or boss to thousands of people, but when it comes to practicing this path, you work in kitchen, you work in cleaning the floor, you clean bathrooms and many other domestic works you can do. All these works burn your karma ON ONE HAND and make you more and more one-pointed with the dharna techniques given in this video.
When you are in dharana, you will not accumulate karma. When you are in dharana, even if you are in the war and killing others, all that killing happens from the SOURCE OF THE CREATION and the karma of it does not come to you. This is how Krishna worked in wars, this is how Rama worked in wars, this is how Hanuman worked and so did Arjuna (he was trained). Not just in wars, in giving blessings to others, in helping others, magical powers all were attained by various gurus and all through this. But the point is all about the DEGREE OF PERFECTION you attain with this Dharana.
So never step back in doing any works. Go forward to jump into works. You don’t have to be afraid like other yogis who do not do this dharana in their actions. So you can actually enjoy your works (how difficult ever they are or how mean ever they are), as you actually merge in dharana which actually unites you with the cosmic source. So do not be lazy in doing your works or do not feel LOW or SHY in doing mean or lowly works. Work is a work, there is no high work or mean work. So you will enjoy your works while being in dharana.
