P9-L2-Mental Kriya

Mental Kriya means, it is not based on breath or anything. It is more connected to the deep layers of your mind.

As mentioned already in previous chapters, your mind is like a computer monitor screen or like a TV screen. Currently you are so weak that you are not able to NAVIGATE voluntarily through your mind. On screen like mind, various images keep moving. Images of various people you know, things and all. You do not have sharp awareness about what images are moving through your mind. Sometimes those images simply keep coming on their own. Sometimes, based on smell, sound or pictures or people you see in the real world, pull or move various images in your mind. You basically hold on to certain images and process your thoughts. Those thoughts can be real or unreal thoughts.  Based on your thoughts, you come to conclusions about some people, some situations and some things in the world.

But those conclusions are based on your own beliefs and opinions and they are true.  Most of the people, based on the data they store in their memory about certain people, things and situations, they record conclusions in their memory. Every time, they come across that person in real world or when that person is remembered in the mind, you will again process those opinions and beliefs and based on them you will do actions.

So your actions are not perfect, because you always do actions based on your opinions and beliefs.

So to do perfect actions, you need to build right intuition that says what is right action and what is not right action. You should have that intuition that says, something or some person is good or bad.  That intuition, is nothing but the GURU WITHIN, which you already invoked few months ago.

However, listen to your intuition or Guru within better, you should conduct a mental exercise always. That mental exercise is nothing but mental kriya.

Let us understand the nature of your mind. Your mind moves like pendulum from one image to another image in the mind.

When you start practicing BEING AT THE CENTER POINT, then you can slowly start developing the skill of observing your mind and its movements, the thoughts that are coming into you, the thoughts you process and the actions you do – all those will be in control over a period of time.

So the mental kriya you need to do is

  1. Sit at a place
  2. With open eyes
  3. Imagine candle light or Jyoti (or even Guru’s Picture – in this case Shree Guru’s picture) in your mind
  4. Imagine the name of that jyoti or candle light (or Shree Guru’s picture) as Hari Om (or hariom shree guru maha Vishnu Krishna narayan namaha)
  5. Hold the image in the mind and say hari om once – count the number of hariom (or hariom shree guru maha Vishnu Krishna narayan namaha) with finger counting
  6. Hold the image in the mind and say hari om (or hariom shree guru maha Vishnu Krishna narayan namaha) – open your one finger
  7. Hold the image in the mind and say hari om again (or hariom shree guru maha Vishnu Krishna narayan namaha) – open 2nd finger
  8. Like that count 20 times (or you can even do more times)

Remember, the objective of this kriya is – you should not get any other images in your mind. You should just hold on to one single image of candle light and its name – Hariom (or hariom shree guru maha Vishnu Krishna narayan namaha)

  • Do it like this every day once in the morning, once in the evening.
  • Later on do, even once in the afternoon (probably after lunch). Later
  • Later start practicing it without counting while may be walking or while sitting idle or probably while eating
  • Keep practicing this for few months together.

Keep practicing this for the next 45 days. In next lesson, you will be given kriya to observe thoughts and record the thoughts.

This has to be a life time exercise all times. Once you get used to this exercise or kriya, you can do this kriya all times, while eating, while driving and all. You will start developing the skill of this exercise, then your soul will start doing this exercise even when you are asleep. This exercise makes you more and more one pointed.

The more and more one pointed you become, you will start tuning to the supernatural power and the guru. He will start talking to you from within in terms of voice and also in terms of giving thoughts. When you follow those thoughts and voice, you will do great actions in the world which will not only be helpful to your life, career but also to the world.

As you keep doing this, your mind will start becoming more and more sharp. That one pointed mind is what is said in Bhagawad Gita. At the end of the life, when you leave the breath, your mind will be easily get one pointed and then your soul will merge in the cosmic consciousness.  At one single image of god (candle light or jyoti) with the name of the cosmic ocean (Hari Om), you will remain one pointed and you merge back in that ocean. Your soul will never come back even if it has little karma left.

So start doing this life time kriya
